Facebook is looking for an experienced writer to join its Communications team in Latin America. This person will focus on storytelling and developing communications assets and will support the team’s digital content strategy. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who creates compelling high-quality narratives and content across a broad range of topics and formats, from the economic impact of the Facebook apps to innovation and new product features, and our efforts to protect the integrity of our services. This person has excellent news judgement and the ability to convey complicated and nuanced topics in clear copy. This person excels at working collaboratively with executives and colleagues, and consistently delivers high-quality work under severe time constraints. Experience in executive and brand writing is ideal. This is a full-time position located in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires or Mexico City. Communications Manager, Editorial, Latin America Responsibilities
  • Create clear and effective content to support the Communications team and executives — including Newsroom posts, comments, talking points, and other material
  • Develop strong narratives about the economic impact, innovation and responsibility of our apps
  • Create content for own and paid channels
  • Collaborate with partners across our communications, public policy, legal, product and other teams
  • Use data to inform content recommendations and decisions
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of editorial experience, preferably in media, corporate content or speech writing
  • Excellent written and spoken English, as well as excellent written and spoken Spanish or Portuguese
  • Impeccable news judgement and ability to spot trends and themes
  • Rigorous researcher who is able to translate complex topics into clear, widely accessible copy
  • Ability to write short- to long-form editorial content under tight deadline
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing and editing in English, as well as in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Experience creating brand or corporate content
  • Experience developing content for digital strategies
