About the Role

 

We are looking for an amazing VP of Marketing for Bitso. You will be a growth genius and visionary who can “make crypto useful” in our hearts and minds, preceding the seismic wave which will change our relation and behaviors towards money. With your foresight and excitement about the future of money and the evolution of society, you will power our international expansion, growth-based products, customer journeys and thought leadership. You will transform a ubiquitous, borderless and inclusive business model, into a reality.

 

You will build a marketing “dream team” to drive a data-driven strategy and execution of our top-of-funnel lead generation and customer lifecycle marketing, and convert these into accelerated customer growth. You do not need to be an expert in crypto, but you do need to be passionate and curious to learn about the endless possibilities that crypto offers. You must be hungry for the opportunity to change money.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the marketing strategy, always looking to anticipate Bitso’s unit economics and opportunities for new markets’ growth 
  • Influence Bitso’s strategy through various marketing insights
  • Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team. Inspire and become a prime brand ambassador to attract the best talent, injecting a servant-leader attitude towards the team
  • Drive the data-driven implementation of marketing efforts that meet business objectives and drives: 
  • Design and implement sophisticated systems for creating compounding growth
  • Leverage novel marketing techniques to catapult growth across all markets and channels globally for the Bitso brand
  • Generate a deep understanding of how our products grow. Work with the team to identify the quantitative and qualitative properties of our growth loops - optimize them towards creating a more efficient growth strategy
  • Lead our acquisition efforts and develop channel strategies to exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets with an eye toward cost-efficient growth and improving LTV, cost per transacting user and ARPU
  • Optimize and expand our channel mix, improving conversion and leveling up our forecasting, tracking & reporting
  • Oversee all efforts around paid marketing, targeting, ad tech and measurement with an eye toward building broader awareness and growth for the Bitso brand globally
  • Lead the media planning & execution across our diverse marketing mix including paid search, social, display, audio (podcast, radio), direct mail and out of home
  • Manage marketing budget and expenditures
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels
  • Be a spokesperson for Bitso globally

 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

 

  • 8+ years of excellent track record in Marketing, with at least the last two successfully leading a scale-up operation and outstanding growth
  • Strategic, global and disruptive mindset
  • Think exponentially to design and implement scalable growth strategies - as a linear thinker you will not succeed in this role
  • Very strong data-based decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to provide clear direction while fostering a highly creative environment
  • Passion to leverage technology in order to reach a wider set of customers and fulfill our promise of financial inclusion 
  • Experience building, leading and managing sharp, high performing teams both in culture, values and ethics, as well as top technical expertise
  • While having a crypto-currency or blockchain professional background is not a prerequisite, this role does involve having the passion to quickly adopt our industry, become its best ambassador and bring cryptocurrencies to millions of individuals
  • Be 100% fluent in English. Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a plus
  • Fully remote role
